This evening tour combines visits to Rome’s most famous attractions, while also taking you to hidden gems off the tourists’ path.
We’ll wait until the daytime crowds die down and the temperatures cool to begin this relaxing evening stroll through one of the most historic and beautiful cities in the world.
The tour begins at Trajan’s Column, which is easy to find and conveniently located in the center of the city. From there, I’ll explain 3 major attractions close by:
– Trajan’s Market, a 1,800 year old ancient Roman shopping center
– The Alter of the Father, one of the largest monuments in Europe, celebrating the creation of the Italy
– Piazza Venezia (Venice Square), the Venetian Embassy before Venice joined Italy
Next, we’ll make our way to incredible Trevi Fountain. This fountain has been a magnet for locals and visitors for over 300 years.
Our next stop will take us to the best preserved Roman temple in the world: the Pantheon. Originally built as a Roman temple in the 2nd century AD, then repurposed as a Catholic Church, the Pantheon has withstood the fall of Rome, regime changes, countless wars, and gravity for over 1,900 years. The Pantheon is a triumph of human ambition and we’ll give it the time it deserves.
We’ll conclude the tour in Piazza Navona, one of Rome’s most beautiful squares and in prime location for post-tour pizzerias, restaurants, and wine bars.
